Free Mulch and Compost Available in Parks

Sarasota County Environmental Services have teamed with Community Services to provide free compost and mulch for Sarasota County residents at four county parks. This compost and mulch is processed from the yard-waste curbside collection program of Sarasota County residents.
Participation rules are:

• For residential use only. No commercial businesses.
• Availability of compost and mulch is during regular park hours.
• Bring your own shovel and containers.
• The bunkers are in our parks. Please help keep the site clean.
• Do not bring your yard waste to this site for disposal.
• Take what you need and spread the word.

After 2003, free compost will be available at various parks Other county sites for free compost and mulch are Bee Ridge Landfill, 861-1530 and Central County Landfill, 861-1570.
